I am writing this in response to the plea from the Look Matters staff for me to allow my husband to participate in MOvember. I’d like to start by clearing up the misconception that I am not allowing my husband to participate. On the contrary, I am a huge supporter of philanthropic endeavors, even those that are the expense of the participant looking ridiculous. In fact just this week I allowed the Canadian Cancer Society to send two uniformed police officers to “arrest” me and put me in the back of a cruiser at 8 months pregnant all in the name of Jail’n Bail. I think that MOvember is brilliant form of promotion for prostate cancer awareness to raise funds for this cause. So in spite of their appearance, I think that men participating in MOvember to raise awareness and funds for Prostate cancer should be applauded. I mean even the premier is even jumping on the MO-bandwagon.
My only concern about MOvember is that I think some men lose sight of it’s original intent and just use it as an excuse to skip the razor for a month and go au natural. With this in mind I give my blessing for Zlatan to participate in MOvember with the following challenge as the caveat. Zlatan can grow and keep his MO so long as he raises $100/day for prostate cancer. I also challenge the rest of the Look Matters men to participate in this challenge and really create a significant impact for prostate cancer awareness.
